I have been distracted with a few other projects (such as building a 3D printer and writing a 3D rendering engine in Java) so AC2CZ has not been on the air that much. Even so, I have crept towards my goal of DXCC and have now worked 100 entities! I can't quite file the DXCC application because only 85 are confirmed. So worst case I still need to work another 15. Best case I just need to chase the paper.
I have 3 recently worked entities including Senegal 6W, Tunisia 3V in the ARRL DX Contest this weekend, and Clipperton Island, FO/C, last night. Thanks to the TX5K DX team for putting the island on the air. So those QSLs will be in the post shortly. Hopefully that takes me to 88 confirmed. Leaving just 12 QSLs to collect. But these are not new contacts and they have proved difficult to collect so far.
These should not be that hard. I had to send 5 different stations in Russia a QSL before one would reply. Each of these countries should be easy in comparison. So its probablly the call signs that I worked rather than the countries themselves. I have tried direct mail and follow up via email where possible. In most cases I am going to have to work another callsign. Anyway, here is the list of the last 12 for DXCC on 40m with my homebrew radio station:
DXCC | Entity | Issue |
J7 | Dominica | Sent me a QSL for AC2Z. Trying to chase a card with the right call. |
V2 | Antigua | Japanese Operator. Waiting for reponse to direct QSL |
VP2E | Anguilla | QRZ Profile says he wont QSL by mail or by LOTW |
A6 | United Arab Emirates | No reply |
CN | Morocco | Two stations worked. No reponses |
ZS | South Africa | No reponse |
EA9 | Ceuta and Melilla | No reponse |
GI | Northern Ireland | No reponse |
YO | Romania | No reponse |
Z3 | Macedonia | Not a card I can submit to ARRL without blushing. Need to work another station |
VK | Australia | No reponse from 2 callsigns |
